Many of the rich and famous are buying property in Barbados such as Cliff Richard, Cilla Black just to name but a couple and areas such as St James and Speightstown where some of the big developments are springing up such as Port St Charles marina where the development of this real estate might be out of the reach of the average pocket but is sill a very swanky piece of property.

Real estate prices on the west coast of Barbados tend to be more expensive than prices on the east coast. This could be due to the popularity of the West coast as it is more geared up for tourist and the Caribbean sea is that side of the island where more people tend to go.

Buying real estate on the East coast of Barbados has a few advantages. Firstly the prices are generally a bit cheaper but also with the east coast being a bit quieter than the West coast so some of the locals are now buying and renting real estate on the East side of the island. Places such as Bathseaba make a great holiday spot for Barbadians as it is great for surfing and getting away from the hustle and bustle of town life.

St Philip Barbados is starting to become popular with the real estate Merricks development making the East side of Barbados more and more  popular.
